I observed the map for Kentucky and Tennessee.
I was able to arrange the map correctly over the actual placement of the two states. I can access the map this way, as well as looking over the actual image itself, and the 3d version (still in beta). The map also provided the different counties, so we can compare to how those two states that were then to now. It was really interesting seeing the differences. As I said, the best use of this map is to see the differences between the past and the present. If it’s not for “historical comparisons”, then it’s best not to use this map.
